The Occupations in Demand brochure for 2025 is now available. The brochure provides a breakout of Oregon occupations by entry-level education requirement. The online version of the 2025 brochure is available on QualityInfo.org, and paper copies are available through the Publications Order Form. You may also find paper copies at WorkSource Oregon Centers and other career centers around the state.

The brochure uses wage estimates and projected openings over the next 10 years to point out future job opportunities in careers that require different education requirements.

Many of the occupations with the most projected job openings do not typically require education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent. For instance, we project over 14,000 annual openings for fast food and counter workers.

However, many of these occupations may pay below average wages. If you look at occupations that do not require applicants to have a high school degree, most occupations are paid a lower median wage than the statewide median wage ($51,563).

By contrast, while there are fewer projected openings that require a Bachelor’s degree many of these occupations pay above average wages.
